About us

  • Right to Water is a Wellington-based community group working to end user-pays and privatisation of household water supply.
  • We believe access to sufficient quantities of clean water is a human right and a public good.
  • We consider moves towards user-pays and privatisation of water are a continuation of a neoliberal programme that separates people from commons.
  • We recognise water as the source of all life and believe it should not be bought or sold for commercial gain.
  • We work by consensus and welcome new members who share our philosophy and  aims.
